Alcantara Jewellery Box

Using Alcantara Fabric provided by 'Alcantara', the objective was to test the limits and possibilities with this polymer based material and to apply it into a product.

Design ideation and creation

Starting with experimentation, a number of different forms and tests were applied to the material, e.g. branding. In the end, smocking was the chosen method to take forward.

Process

Final Product

A Jewellery box with a "smocking pattern" Alcantara lid for keeping rings and earrings in place and a turned wooden bowl underneath for larger pieces.
